Teacher evaluation system: The Elmbrook School Board's Personnel Committee will receive a presentation about possible changes to the district's teacher evaluation system, as well as sick leave policies and the 2013 health plan. Best Friend Boot Camp - Last Session: The will hold a one-week class, from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday (Aug. 13 to 17), on teaching children the reality of what is really involved in pet ownership. Big Splash Day: From noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Marx Park will become water fun central for the Town of Brookfield's annual Big Splash Day. The fire department will have hoses and sprinklers and places to fill up water balloons and squirt guns, as well as refreshments.

Irish Tunes and Tales: Renowned Celtic harp musician Jeff Pockat will play songs and tell stories of the Emerald Isle, in an all ages, free show at 7 p.m. Wednesday the , 1900 N. Calhoun Rd.

Brookfield Public Library book sale: The Friends of the Brookfield Public Library's annual book sale continues Friday through Sunday in the city's Senior Center, on the east end of at 2000 N. Calhoun Rd. Sale hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. are available, most for 50 cents to $2 each.
