Negotiating contract for a new Elmbrook Superintendent: The Elmbrook School Board will meet in closed session at 6 p.m. Monday at 13780 Hope St. to discuss the terms of a contract offer to Mark Hansen of Pewaukee Schools to replace Superintendent Matt Gibson. Agenda

Finding new alderman for District 3: The city's Legislative & Licensing Committee at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday will discuss how to fill the aldermanic seat vacated after the death of Ald. Jim Garvens. Past practice has been to seek applications from district residents, interview and recommend an appointment.

Outdoor, sidewalk and tent sales and displays: The Common Council will solicit comments after explaining proposed new outdoor sales and display rules at a public hearing at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd. The issue raised after the city asked Michaels Arts and Crafts to remove its sidewalk sales.

Setting public hearing for proposed mosque: Aldermen will vote Tuesday on whether to schedule a public hearing on a proposal by the Islamic Society of Milwaukee to build a mosque.

Vintage Valentines: A Greendale woman and member of the National Valentines Collector Association will display her collection of rare and historic antique valentines with a slide show. The free event will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at ProHealth Care Regency Senior Communities, 777 N. Brookfield Rd. Soerens Ford Ladies Night: Women can come learn how to be prepared for the unexpected: flat tires, dead batteries, vehicle lockouts and more. The free event is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Soerens Ford, 18900 W. Capitol Dr. Please RSVP to Laura: 262-790-5136 or laurm@soerens.com.

Creative Preschool Center Open House: A Brookfield mainstay since 1969, the Creative Preschool Center will hold its open house at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at its location in Peace United Methodist Church, 2400 N. Brookfield Rd. Refreshments will be offered as staff gives tours and explains the "fun-filled, well planned curriculum."
