Historic Recount Begins and Mayor Ponto Urges State Budget Changes

What's the over / under on whether the statewide recount will be completed by the May 9 deadline?

It's Sunday. Do you know where your Board of Canvassers are? They probably aren't recounting state Supreme Court votes today but they likely did Saturday, as the states's 72 counties try to verify the results of 1.5 million votes.

Brookfield Patch was there as the Town of Brookfield's ballots were the first to be opened by the Waukesha County Board of Canvassers. Unless the state asks a judge for an extension, the recount must be completed by May 9. What's the over/under on whether that will happen?

Thursday: Day 2 of the recount: Town of Brookfield finishes with a net change . The process is tedious and slow, with just 2 percent of the county's votes recounted after the first day and a half.
