#YellowForGreg Trending in Support of Teen with Cancer

A 14-year-old New Berlin boy who has been battling bone cancer for more than a year is seeing support from all parts of the community.

People from the social media hemisphere have been rallying to support a 14-year-old New Berlin boy who has spent the past year battling bone cancer.

Greg Von Rueden learned of his diagnosis last summer as he was preparing to win his second National Championship with his club volleyball team.

After going through surgery and chemotherapy Greg thought he beat the cancer this last March. Only two weeks later the family received the devastating news that his cancer had returned.

Earlier this month volleyball teams came together and wore yellow at the Badger Region Championships in Milwaukee, reported TMJ4.

The group Yellow For Greg is attempting to get #YellowForGreg trending on Twitter. So far it's working. Here are a few tweets:

Close to $30,000 has also been raised to help the family offset medical costs through a website called gofundme.com.

Along with the website, a run called YellowRun4Greg is being organized for May 5. Registration is due April 26. Click here to register.

The family is keeping a detailed journal of Greg's status on Caring Bridge.

"We continue to pray for healing him and getting him back on the road to recovery," wrote the family on the site.
