Calling ALL Leaders to join the Emerging Leaders Board at Elmbrook Humane Society!

The mission of the Elmbrook Humane Society (EBHS) is to promote the human-animal bond through adoption and education, to provide shelter to homeless animals, and to prevent animal cruelty and neglect. The Emerging Leaders Board was founded to help Elmbrook Humane Society reach a larger audience of adopters and donors in the community, and to contribute guidance and resources to supplement the overall success of the organization.


Mission of the Emerging Leaders Board:
The Emerging Leaders Board’s mission is to support and promote the efforts of EBHS through a variety of ways, including:
· Serving as an advocate for our shelter and raising visibility for the organization
· Connecting resources (both financial and in-kind) to the organization
· Organizing a variety of fund-raising projects that focus on the vital work of EBHS
· Making current and future community leaders aware of EBHS and our programs.


Why join the EBHS Emerging Leaders Board?
· Support an organization that is doing important work saving the lives of animals and
educating the public to create a more humane community.
· Provide guidance in your areas of expertise to enhance existing programs and improve
operations where needed.
· Play an active role in engaging others to support EBHS’ life-saving programs.
· Participate in community service while gaining a better understanding of philanthropy in the
Greater Milwaukee area.
· Develop your leadership skills and build a network with other professionals from diverse back
grounds and industries who share the compassion and love for animals.
· Learn more about the animal welfare community on both a local and national level, about
animal advocacy, fund-raising, and about non-profit management.
· Meet wonderful people, and wonderful animals!

EBHS Emerging Leaders Board activities include:
· Attending monthly EBHS Emerging Leaders Board meetings.
· Securing participants, sponsors, volunteers and other resources for shelter events
· Volunteering at shelter events.
· Developing, planning and producing at least one EBHS Emerging Leaders Board fund-raising event annually.


EBHS Emerging Leaders Board Members will be selected based upon the following criteria:
· A desire to focus on Non-Profit Management or Community Leadership in the future, including concentrations such as Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, etc.
· Commitment to animals.
· An outgoing and energetic personality.
· Active participation in volunteer and community activities.
