Tails will be wagging on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Brookfield’s Mitchell Park (next to the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. as the Elmbrook Humane Society (EBHS) hosts its annual Wagfest fundraiser.
The 6th annual Wagfest is the place for animals and their people to come together as a community and celebrate the bond between them. The one-day festival includes food, music, shopping, a silent auction and raffles. Silent auction and raffle prizes include Harley-Davidson collectables, Green Bay Packer packages and the sought after “Party Time Wheelbarrow” filled with premium liquor and fine wines.
Each year Wagfest is bigger and better with new attractions; this year is no different. Wagfest has grown from a 5K Run/Walk to a full blown festival with over eighty vendors, big name sponsors and with more attendees each year. This year EBHS expects over 5,000 people with their furry friends in tow.

Just one of the many new attractions at Wagfest 2013, will be the addition of one lure course, making three total lure courses. Rachel Coolbroth, Elmbrook Humane Society’s Director of Community Relations & Development said, “The lure course area is always a big draw at Wagfest. Guests will wait by the course to exercise their dogs, which is why the committee felt it was necessary to add a third course.” EBHS hopes that the addition of the third lure course will substantially cut down wait times for the popular dog activity.
Event admission and parking are free and open to the public. EBHS will provide a free shuttle to and from parking lots for people and their animals, courtesy of Boscos Social Club in Waukesha.

All proceeds from Wagfest will benefit the animals at the Elmbrook Humane Society, which is the only no-kill shelter in Waukesha County.
The mission of the Elmbrook Humane Society is to promote the human-animal bond through adoption and education, to provide shelter to homeless animals, and to prevent animal cruelty and neglect.
