Wangard Partners would like to congratulate Tony DeRosa for his achievement as The Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award winner of 2013. The 40 Under 40 Awards celebrate the dedication and hard work of Milwaukee leaders who are making a difference in the business community. The awards ceremony for the event is March 4. Tony is currently Vice President of Development at Wangard Partners, Inc. and maintains a leadership role spiriting the growth of their multi-family development.
Two recent highly successful projects developed under Tony’s leadership include 1910 on Water and The Preserve at Prairie Creek. 1910 on Water is a 68 unit luxury apartment development located on the east side of Milwaukee. With a timeframe of three years between planning, financing and constructing, 1910 on Water opened in October 2012 and has been well received by the Milwaukee market.
The Preserve at Prairie Creek in Oconomowoc is a 228 unit luxury apartment community. The first phase of The Preserve (102 units) was completed in 2012 and has been well received by the community Phase two of the project is currently under construction with the next 126 units scheduled to be completed in spring 2013 for a total of 228 units.
While talking with Tony about the firm’s recent success, he is quick to point out that while having a successful project is important, he continually brings up the impact these projects have on the local community. Tony estimates that over the past three years through the firm’s construction of new development projects, they have created in excess of 600 jobs, while provide new housing units for hundreds more.
Serving on the Board of Directors of REACH (Real Estate Alliance for Charity), Tony volunteered to chair the organization’s Winter Gala. The Winter Gala is REACH’s #1 fundraiser, raising money for children’s charities in the Milwaukee area, such as: The Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin and St. Coletta Day School. In addition to REACH, Tony also is involved in HeartLove Place, a ministry that offers a variety of programs including a Child Development program that introduces children to a learning environment focused on language, offers opportunity for children to ask questions, and fosters specific social and emotional skills.
