Knollwood Farm Fall ShowArea youth compete in horse show
HARTLAND, WI (October 25, 2012) – Knollwood Farm is hosting its fall academy horse show on November 10 and 11 at its barn in Hartland, WI.  Local riders who participate in the expansive lesson program will compete in events while riding lesson horses owned by the farm.
The Saturday performance begins at 1:00 PM, and features the programs more advanced riders who will compete at the walk, trot, and canter.  Featured events include pleasure classes, where the horse is the star, equitation, where the rider’s form and skill are judged, pattern classes where the riders must complete a pattern requested by the judge, and pairs classes, where two riders must ride all gaits while staying close to each other.  The session finishes with the top placing riders from the equitation classes competing in championship classes.
The Sunday performance begins at 12 noon and features the less experienced riders who will compete at the walk and trot.  These future stars will compete in pleasure, equitation, and pattern classes.  The youngest riders will compete in a Leadline class where they will walk and trot while being led by an experienced rider. The Sunday session will also finish with a series of championship classes.
Judging all events will be veteran horseman Zack White of McHenry, IL.
The show is open to the public and admission to the viewing area for all events is free. The Knollwood Knockouts, the farm’s youth group chartered by the American Saddlebred Youth Association, hosts a concession stand at the show to raise funds for various charitable organizations.
