Educator Discovers Reading Difficulty Caused by Vision Problems
Does your child have a reading problem that no one can figure out? This educator found an answer.
If you have a child that has difficulty reading, you’re likely keeping your eyes open for any possible solutions. Even though you live here in Wisconsin, you may be quite interested in this story involving Barbara Scola, an educator in New Jersey who was working with children who suffered from reading problems.
She was becoming frustrated with one particular case. A student knew his words in isolation, but when the words appeared at the beginning of a paragraph, the boy couldn’t recognize them, or he’d alter the first two letters.
Scola did more research, and stumbled upon a treatment that improved the child’s ability to read. She then later suggested the treatment to a very skeptical educator whose child had a reading issue as well.
