Help Ryan Braun and SURG Restaurant Group Care for Children at Froedtert Hospitals!

My mother worked in a hospital when I was young. Although I was usually only
visiting my mom at work or waiting for a ride home, hospitals make me
uncomfortable.  Sterile hallways coupled with the thought of what chaos might come through the waiting room door can create an unnerving experience for any child, to say the least. I could only imagine if I had been a pediatric oncology patient expecting test results or a young girl waiting to hear terrible news about a loved one.

Sick people and mortality are difficult themes to cope with as a child. Despite the
friendly staff and thoughtfully designed interior, activities to occupy the
mind and body are crucial at hospitals like Froedtert. In planning the SURG
Restaurant Group Fund for Children Inaugural Benefit, I've realized that I can
help grieving children in an important way.  

On Wednesday, May 22nd, Ryan Braun and 8-Twelve MVP Bar and Grille will be hosting a benefit in Brookfield. I am proud to say that the company I work for, SURG Restaurant Group, has allowed me to help in the quest to raise awareness and donations for the SURG Restaurant Group Fund for Children, an extension of the SURG Cares Foundation.

Tickets are now $100 per guest. Proceeds will fund the purchase of toys, videos, games and other needs for children in emergency rooms or waiting rooms at Froedtert.  The fund also may be used to support the education of staff working with children at the hospital. I would like to raise enough money to purchase costumes for "superhero window washers." (See attached photo.)

From 6 to 9 p.m. guests will have the opportunity to take pictures with Ryan Braun, win fabulous prizes, and enjoy 8-Twelve's farm-to-table food stations and
countless beverage options.
