Supreme Wrestling Entertainment "Rises Against Cancer"

On Saturday, in Fredonia, Supreme Wrestling Entertainment is holding "Rise Against Cancer II," with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

There have been a lot of great tag-teams in professional wrestling, but this Saturday in Fredonia, WI, we will see a team of epic proportions.  Supreme Championship Wrestling (SWE) is teaming with the American Cancer Society for “Rise Against Cancer II.”

All of SWE’s events are entertaining, but “Rise Against Cancer II” is going to be a very special night.  Of course there will be the usual excellent wrestling.  Wrestlers including SWE champ TC Washington, Sexy K.C., Butchie Davis and many others will still be battling in the ring.  There will also be raffles for donated prizes.  DJ Bob will be on hand providing lively music.  There will be food, fun and other surprises.

When I recently talked to SWE owner Chris Hansen, he was super excited about “Rise Against Cancer II.”  “Everyone knows someone who battled cancer…and we need to find a cure for it,” stated Hansen.  Hansen is doing his part, as all of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Hansen’s commitment to the fight is contagious.  All of the wrestlers are donating their time, as are all of the other SWE staffers.  Wrestlers will be coming from four states to support the cause.

Wrestler Jack Steel stated, “Well unfortunately I've lost my mom, grandmother, and an uncle to cancer, so anything I can do to help in the fight, I'm 100% dedicated to.”  Fellow wrestler Tiny Love gave me his take, “Cancer is an ugly thing, very ugly.  To help against the fight is the least I can do and not only that it gives me a chance to beat the holy heck out of 7 others in the 8 man gauntlet match!”  Now that’s the spirit.

Several of my Chicago-area friends will be going, but unfortunately, I cannot attend due to my work schedule.  I will be there in spirit however.  I will also be sending a donation to Hansen as my show of support.  If an entire wrestling organization, heroes and villains alike, can stand together to wrestle cancer, I feel compelled to do my part to support them.  Like most people, a few members of my family have battled cancer.  I am grateful for Hansen and all of SWE for all they are doing.

“Rise Against Cancer II” will be held at the Ozaukee Middle School with doors opening at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show.  Your $10 entrance fee is a small price to pay for a fantastic wrestling show, plus you will be supporting the cause.  I encourage everyone to attend “Rise Against Cancer II” and to help SWE in their effort to make cancer tap out!
