SJV 5th graders learn about markets and trade at Hartford’s Buckskinner Encampment
The SJV 5th graders traveled back in time, to Wisconsin’s own Buckskinner Encampment in Hartford in order to learn about life in the 1700s and 1800s, including trade practices such as fur traders, cooking, blacksmith demonstrations, quill working and much more. This week, the 5th graders will create their own merchant market complete with home-made items to sell and trade with their classmates.
