'Amazing Lady, Amazing Life': Brookfield Woman Dies at the Age of 104

Mary Frances Noesen was a former teacher who pursued a second career as an artist and gardener, and earned a first prize in a statewide competition featuring her ceramic work at the age of 103.


Mary Frances "Fran" Noesen (nee Strub) passed away on Feb. 12 at the age of 104 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Noesen, and cherished mother of Marilyn Daniel (the late Charles) and John (Brenda) Noesen. Loving grandmother of Mark Noesen, Margo (Michael) Hanschke and Christopher (Kristina) Noesen. Great-grandmother of Joshua, Lorelei, Brendan, Parker and Averie.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 10 - 11 a.m., in the chapel at The Congregational Home, 13900 W. Burleigh Rd., Brookfield, with funeral service at 11 a.m.. Interment to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Fran was a dedicated teacher with the Wauwatosa School System. After retirement, she pursued a second career as an artist and gardner. At age 103, Fran won first prize in a statewide competition featuring her ceramic work.
