5 Years in Prison Following Armed Robbery Attempt

Despite pleading out of a more serious charge, Evan Dunlap is headed to prison.

A Brookfield man will spend five years in prison for attempting to rob an acquaintance at gunpoint in March.

Evan Scott Dunlap was sentenced to five years in prison and three years probation on a count of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, according to online court records. He will receive 132 days of credit for time served.

Judge Dennis Moroney also sentenced him to three years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Dunlap fired two shots in the attempted robbery, according to a criminal complaint, and the victim grabbed his own gun and fired one time back. Nobody was hurt and Dunlap didn’t steal anything.
