8-twelve Azana Spa Fundraiser Details Announced

The restaurant will sell $100 tickets for the event which covers food and wine. A silent auction will feature items donated by the MVPs and many businesses.

Update Friday: Tickets are sold out.

8-twelve MVP will hold a Nov. 12 fundraiser for Azana Salon & Spa, with $100 tickets benefitting the children of the three spa employees killed in the Oct. 21 mass shooting.

The restaurant owned by the Brewers' Ryan Braun and Packers Aaron Rodgers plans to sell a maximum of 200 tickets to the dinner and silent auction and donate all proceeds to the salon families, Megan Boucher, media coordinator for SURG Restaurants, told Patch.

"We expect them to go fairly fast," Boucher told Patch.

The event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 at 8-twelve MVP Bar & Grill, 17800 W. Bluemound Rd. in Brookfield. Reservations can be made at www.surgrestraurantgroup.com and 8twelvebenefit.eventbrite.com.

Braun and Rodgers will not be at the event but have donated some "awesome auction items," she said.

The $100 charge will cover all food (via food stations) and drink, with 100 percent of that charge and all silent auction proceeds going to the Azana shooting victims' families.

The estranged husband of an Azana hairsatylist entered the salon when it opened Sunday morning and killed his wife and two coworkers, wounding three more coworkers and a client before committing suicide.

"As a business new to the city, we are deeply saddened by this terrible act of violence," said Omar Shaikh, of the SURG Restaurant Group. "We are strongest when we work together and we invite our neighbors and friends to come together to show our strength and support.

Co-owner Michael Polaski added: "We share in the pain and sorrow of those who were directly impacted by this tragedy. On behalf of the entire SURG family, we join with our Brookfield family in praying for healing during this difficult time."

Shaikh previously said on Twitter than Charles Woodson's wine would be part of the event. He said Thursday Woodson's Twenty-Four and One Hope Wine will be featured.

Among those donating items for the silent auction are Braun, Rodgers, the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Wave, Global Sight & Sound and Kohl's Department stores. Today's TMJ4 anchor Susan Kim, whose hairdresser Zina Haughton was the one targeted in the domestic violence-related shooting, will serve as the event's emcee.
