Armed Robbery Charge Dropped in Brookfield Man's Plea Deal

Evan Dunlap still is convicted on a pair of felonies in the March 2013 incident.

A Brookfield man avoided conviction on an armed robbery charge after pleading no contest to two other, lesser felonies.

Evan Scott Dunlap was accused of trying to rob an acquaintance in his home in late March, exchanging gunfire with the victim in the process.

Dunlap pleaded no contest to second-degree reckless endangerment and being a felon in charge of a firearm. In exchange for that, prosecutors dropped the most serious charged, armed robbery with threat of force, which could have carried a sentence of up to 40 years.
