Baby Formula Theft Leads to Armed Robbery Charge
Milwaukee woman is accused of threatening two people with a gun at a Brookfield grocery store, although all she had was a cell phone, according to a criminal complaint.
A 41-year-old Milwaukee woman is accused of stealing 10 cans of baby formula and threatening to pull out a gun on a loss prevention officer at a Brookfield Pick N’ Save on Monday.
Andrea M. Dawson, also known as Andrea Threadgill, was charged Tuesday with armed robbery and retail theft. She faces up to 33 years in prison if convicted.

The loss prevention officer saw Dawson take cans of baby formula and place them in a duffle bag. The officer watched Dawson exit the store past the checkout lanes without paying for the baby formula.
The loss prevention officer and an assistant store manager stopped Dawson in the parking lot at Pick N’ Save, 12735 Capitol Drive. As the loss prevention officer approached Dawson, she made a motion to her pocket, yelling “don’t make me pull out this gun.”

The loss prevention officer grabbed her arms before she could pull her hand out of her pocket. The loss prevention officer and the manager rushed her, tackled her to the ground and handcuffed her. That’s when they discovered she had a cell phone in her hand.
Dawson admitted to police she threatened the two men by saying she had a gun. She also admitted to stealing the baby formula but felt the situation was “blown out of proportion.”
The baby powder was valued at $164.90.
