Bonnie Lane House Fire Causes $210K Damage

The cause of the fire is under investigation but might be related to the clothes dryer, fire officials say.

A mother and daughter were staying with friends Monday after a fire caused about $210,000 in damage to their house on Bonnie Lane Sunday night, fire officials say.

Fire crews got a call at 10:53 p.m. about a fire at 18300 Bonnie Lane and found heavy smoke and fire which had spread to the garage, Brookfield Deputy Fire Chief Brian Petersen said Monday.

The two occupants were able to get out safely and were unable to return to the house. Fire officials requested mutual aid from the Town of Brookfield and Elm Grove, and West Allis and the Town of Lisbon fire and emergency crews filled in at Brookfield's main fire station.
