Armed Teenage Robber Ties Up Brookfield Woman, Flees in her Car

After a Monday evening home invasion on Auburn Drive, Brookfield police were able to capture and arrest the suspect — a 15-year-old New Berlin boy.

A 15-year-old New Berlin boy invaded a Brookfield home Monday evening and bound a woman at gunpoint before stealing items including her car in which he fled, police said.

He didn't get far.

Police stopped the car after a short chase and arrested the boy, referring him for charges of armed robbery, armed burglary, battery, false imprisonment and fleeing an officer.

According to Brookfield police:

A woman called 911 at 5:07 p.m. Monday to say her neighbor had just been burglarized and bound by a robber.

A 62-year-old woman in the 880 block of Auburn Drive told police a male walked into her home through an open door and confronted her in her bedroom, armed with a handgun.

He tied her to a chair with electrical cords and rope before stealing numerous items including her car keys. He fled in her car but she was able to free herself and run to her neighbor who called 911.

Officer Wichlacz saw the car heading east on Greenfield Ave east of Moorland Rd. and tried to stop it. The driver took off but officers were able to stop it and arrest the teen.
