Brookfield Man Accused of Having Stolen Credit Card

Police say the victim had the card stolen out of his car several years ago.

 A 21-year-old Brookfield man is accused of having another man’s credit card two years after it was stolen out of his car.

Derek D. Knight was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of receiving stolen property. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.

On Sept. 24, a man contacted the Franklin Police Department after he saw Knight in the 2400 block of Alvina Street. with a credit card taken out of a wallet stolen from his car several years ago. He said Knight had the card, but he doesn’t know who he is.

Knight will make his initial appearance in court Jan. 7.
