Brookfield Man Charged After Hitting New Berlin Squad
Suspect, 29, fled from police after hitting the squad while driving with a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit, charges allege.
A Brookfield man has been charged with hit and run for allegedly striking a New Berlin police squad and fleeing the scene.
Gerardo Carmona Trillo, 29, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of attempting to flee an officer and one count of hit and run of an occupied vehicle. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison and $10,300 in fines.

At 12:34 a.m. Saturday, Trillo rear-ended the squad while an officer was on patrol on northbound Calhoun Road near West Roosevelt Avenue. The officer pulled to the side of the road, but Trillo drove off.
The officer turned on his emergency lights and began to follow Trillo, who fled, reaching speeds as high as 95 miles per hour.

Trillo hit a curb near Wisconsin Avenue and slowed down until he stopped near Oakwood Lane.
Trillo had a blood alcohol level of 0.15 and was arrested for first offense drunken driving.
Trillo, who is a Mexican citizen here on a work visa that expires Jan. 6, apologized for the incident, according to the criminal complaint. He was free after posting $4,999 cash bail while awaiting trial. A preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 5.
