Brookfield PD to Wear Body Cameras

Department officials hope officers will be trained on the equipment by January.

Brookfield police officers will soon be equipped with their own cameras for use while on patrol.

Brookfield's Finance Committee on Tuesday approved the purchase of the cameras, a cost of about $97,8000 up front and $22,000 in maintenance annualyl, according to an article on Brookfieldnow.com.

The videos can be used as evidence in court as well as for training officers, the article said.
