Woman Hits Husband in $400 Wine Purchase Dispute, Charges Allege
Brookfield woman says she kicked her husband in the groin because he grabbed her hand, hurting her during an argument about the wine purchase, charges allege.
A Brookfield woman is facing charges after she allegedly hit her husband after he became upset with her buying $400 worth of wine.
Wendi L. Alar, 53, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Friday with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct domestic abuse. If convicted, she could face up to 90 days in jail.

Alar's husband was reviewing a credit card statement March 20 when he saw his wife had purchased $400 worth of wine at Discount Beverage. He told police he became upset, saying money was tight and that was too much money for wine.
He said his wife reached for his wallet in his back pocket, but he grabbed her arm to get her to let go. He said his wife hit him in the face with her other arm and tried to kick him in his groin area.

Alar told police she was reaching for the credit card statement and that she kicked her husband after he grabbed her hand, causing her pain.
She will make her initial appearance in court June 4.
