Church Burglarized, "Feed the Hungry" Donations Stolen
On the heels of local thefts of a tip jar and Children's Miracle Network donation container, someone stole a church's donation jar for the hungry.
A Brookfield church was burglarized Saturday and the $20 to $25 in its "Feed the Hungry" donation container was stolen, police reports say.
The theft comes after a July 9 at a Speedway gas station on Greenfield Avenue in New Berlin. And the last month at Starbucks, 17000 W. Blue Mound Road.
But unlike those cases which involved swiping money off a counter (and the Starbucks thief was caught and ticketed), this was a burglary, police say.

Inside, one office door was unsuccessful pried, while another was entered by smashing a door window. Someone kicked the door to the pastor's office, where the $20 to $25 in a "Feed the Hungry" donation container was stolen. It was unknown whether anything else was missing in the ransacked office.
