Craigslist 'Men Seeking Men' Ad Causes Problem at Brookfield Hotel

A guest at the Residence Inn complained strangers were knocking and kicking his hotel room door; one man told police Craigslist ad touted get-together there.

A guest at the in Brookfield complained to the front desk two consecutive nights that strangers were knocking and kicking his hotel room door, trying to get in, police reports say.

Officers found one man at the hotel who told them he was responding to a "men seeking men" ad on Craigslist that said there was going to be a "get together in room 422," reports say.

It appeared the man staying in the hotel room did not know about the ad or had any involvement in posting it, and the report did not have any other information, police Capt. Jim Adlam said.

The next night β€” about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday β€” he said someone "keeps kicking his door and trying to get in." The front desk called police, who found one man, 47, who said he was responding to the Craigslist ad about a "get-together."

That man told police he did not knock on the room door but as he approached the room, he saw two other men leaving who said they hadn't been able to make contact with the hotel guest in that room.

The hotel guest told the front desk he would change rooms in the morning.
