A Brookfield man survived two heroin overdoses but he and three others now face criminal charges stemming from the drug cases.
Prosecutors filed charges Wednesday in connection with non-fatal overdoses that occurred on March 1 and Oct. 23 in an apartment in the 1200 block of Lambeth Road in Waukesha.
Law enforcement and drug abuse counselors warn that in Waukesha County, with four recent fatal overdoses. (Experts offer advice in this Brookfield Patch on how to protect youth from the dangerous trend.)

Russo and Christopher L. Reistad, 22, of Brookfield, were charged Wednesday with possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia for the Oct. 23 case.
On March 1, Russo, Green and Sikora were doing heroin in the Waukesha apartment when Russo overdosed. Green laid him on a bed and grabbed a cup of water, splashing it in his face, but Russo did not respond.
Green and Sikora put him in a bathtub and ran cold water over him, but Russo remained unconscious, so they called 911, after which he was revived.
Sikora told police officers that Russo had taken a large amount of heroin and may already have been high before taking the heroin.
On Oct. 23, Russo and Reistad were doing heroin in the same Waukesha apartment when they overdosed. After being revived in an ambulance, Russo told officers he had been taking heroin and Oxycodone.
