Heroin Overdose Saturday in Brookfield Leads to Charges

Town of Waukesha woman overdosed while shooting heroin in Town of Brookfield, but rescue workers revived her with a Narcan pen, charges allege.

A Town of Waukesha woman is facing drug charges after authorities say she overdosed on heroin inside a car in Town of Brookfield.

April Stone, 21, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping. If convicted, she faces up to 10 months in jail and $10,500 in fines.

At 7:57 p.m. Saturday, police and rescue workers were called to the 500 block of Barker Road after Stone overdosed while shooting heroin with a friend in a car. Rescue workers were able to revive her with a Narcan pen while her friend showed officers the items they used to shoot the drug.

Stone told police they bought the drugs from a friend in Milwaukee, and they found a syringe in her purse that she used to shoot the drug.

Stone was being held in Waukesha County Jail on $5,000 bail.
