High-Speed Freeway Chase Ends After Town of Brookfield Joins Pursuit

Motorcycle driver was traveling at 120 mph for about 5.1 miles while being chased by a Waukesha County deputy, according to a criminal complaint.

A 35-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of leading authorities on a 5.1-mile high speed chase on Interstate 94 at 4:03 a.m. Saturday.

Eric B. Crawley is charged with fleeing from police. He faces up to 1-1/2 years in prison and $10,000Β  in fines if convicted.

Crawley was traveling 75 mph on Interstate 94 when a Waukesha County deputy was monitoring traffic at Sunnysloap Road. The deputy attempted to pull over Crawley, who took off driving at a high speed, according to the complaint.

The deputy pursued him, reaching speeds of 135 mph as the deputy caught up to Crawley. The chase lasted for 5.1 miles and averaged 120 mph, the deputy estimated, according to the complaint,

The chase ended after a Town of Brookfield officer joined the pursuit.

Crawley claimed he did not realized that he was being pulled over by the deputy or that a vehicle was following him, the complaint states. He added he was traveling from Chicago to Delafield and does not have a speed gauge on his motorcycle.
