Hit With Butt of Taser, Brookfield Teen Faces More Charges

Brookfield teen and Milwaukee man face charges after fight started in Brookfield parking lot over a missing wallet with $100, according to a criminal complaint.

An investigation into a scuffle at Brookfield Central High School is landing a Brookfield teen in even more trouble after Brookfield police learned the teen hit a vehicle with a baseball bat the day before, according to a criminal complaint.

Anthony K. Bagwell, 19, was charged Friday with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. A 41-year-old Milwaukee man, William M. Fuller, was charged with possession of an electric weapon and battery.

Brookfield police officers investigating the May 7 fight at the school learned Bagwell had been in an altercation the day before in a parking lot at 355 S. Moorland Road. Bagwell was “goofing off” with some people when he couldn’t locate his wallet, witnesses told police, according to the criminal complaint.

The other individuals allowed Bagwell to search them. When the search for the missing wallet, which contained $100, came up empty, the other people asked Bagwell to check at home, the complaint states.

Bagwell returned with more friends and a baseball bat, threatening to hit people with the bat if they didn’t give him the wallet, the complaint states. Bagwell still couldn’t find the wallet, so he hit a 16-year-old girl’s mother’s vehicle with the baseball bat.

Bagwell asked one of the teens in the parking lot if he was planning on playing football next fall, suggesting he planned to hit the teen with the baseball bat, according to the complaint.

Finally, the 16-year-old girl decided to go to an ATM to get Bagwell $100 because she feared he would hurt someone. She also contacted her sister and asked for help, according to the complaint.

Fuller, who is dating the 16-year-old girl’s sister, arrived at the parking lot with a taser. Fuller hit Bagwell on the side of the head with the butt of the taser in the incident, breaking Bagwell’s glasses, the complaint states.

When interviewed by police about the fight, Fuller admitted to his actions while stating he brought the taser for protection while Bagwell denied threatening people with a baseball bat or hitting a car with the bat, according to the complaint.

Bagwell previously was charged after the May 7 fight at Brookfield Central after he was arrested by police for dealing marijuana, court records show.
