Jury Trial Set for Brookfield Man in March Armed Robbery Case

Evan Dunlap is charged with a series of felonies after police say he fired shots at an acquaintance during a robbery in the victim's home.

A jury trial has been set for Aug. 7 in an armed robbery case against a 28-year-old Brookfield man.

Evan Dunlap pleaded not guilty last month after being charged with armed robbery with threat of force and three other felonies in the March 26 incident. Online court records indicate Dunlap’s final pre-trial hearing is July 17, with the trial to follow three weeks later in the court of Judge Dennis Moroney.

The victim in the robbery told police that Dunlap had been invited over to his home on North 68th Street in Milwaukee. After socializing for a while, Dunlap went into the kitchen and then called the victim into the room, where he held him up at gunpoint. He fired shots into the wall, then fled, later asking the victim by phone and text not to pursue the matter with police.
