Juvenile Problems and Pranks Keep Police Busy

Food is flying and doing damage in Brookfield.

Have the summer doldrums set in? 

There were numerous calls to police about juvenile hijinks, including house eggings, milkshake and hamburger throwing, caulked mailboxes and more:

Hamburgers as missiles: Police warned six males, all 16 years old, after a Benington Drive man said someone threw a milk shake at this Honda CRV about 10:30 p.m. Sunday near Misty Mountain Parkway and Hamilton Drive. One admitted he threw a hamburger that hit a car. The Benington Drive man said he would not press charges against the youth if they paid for his car detailing and the teens' parents were notified.

Eggings: Houses in the 1500 block of Spring Drive and 1100 block of Vista View Drive were egged early Saturday. It was the second egging in a week for the Spring Drive home, where a student lives but was on vacation.

Pranks: Another family planning to leave on vacation sought increased police patrols in fear of continued shenanigans after someone moved items around their yard and placed a piece of lawn furniture on a car in their driveway sometime Friday night into Saturday morning.

Drag racing: Police received a report of possible drag racing occurring behind , 3460 N. Brookfield Road, about 10 p.m. Thursday.

Mailboxes down: At least two mailboxes were knocked down in the 20300 block of Downing Court Thursday evening.

Underage drinking? A woman having a party for her daughter at a pavilion Thursday evening asked police to check for underage drinkers in the park after she said she turned away some youth from the party who might have been drinking.

Mailboxes caulked: At least three mailboxes were caulked shut in Milrod Lane, Mayer Lane and Oak Grove Road some time between July 24 and 25. The mailboxes were able to be pried open, and one homeowner told police she also had people ringing her doorbell the previous night and running away.

Graffiti: Graffiti with profane language was found spray painted in green on the northeast corner of on July 25, near the tennis shed and courts.
