Machine Fire Causes Damage But No Injuries

Cause of fire determined to be machine oil igniting.

A fire causing an estimated $225,000 of damage to a machine at Guhring, Inc., 1505 Commerce Ave., occurred Wednesday about 8 p.m., according to a release from the City of Brookfield Fire Department.

First arriving units reported heavy smoke showing from the building. Workers on scene informed the fire department that no one was inside. Fire crews located a fire in a CNC machine, which was extinguished. The cause of the fire was determined to be heating in the machine which ignited lubricating oil.

No injuries were reported. Mutual aid was received at the scene from the Town of Brookfield and Elm Grove.Β
