At 1:59 a.m. Aug. 29, a Brookfield police officer noticed a minivan parked on the west side of North 127th Street near Lisbon Road. The minivan had a wallet inside and the hood was warm indicating it had been there only a short time.

After looking around the area the officer found Elliot who said he was driving but the van broke down. He continued to explain the situation, which the officer found suspicious and the van started without issue.

Elliot told the officer he used to work for , 12645 W. Lisbon Rd., but decided not to park the van there because he had been recently fired from the business. The officer checked the business where he discovered a door was unlocked and footprints left at the scene were identical to shoes Elliot was wearing. Elliot admitted having a key for the business.

He eventually admitted he had come to the business in order to get a non-compete contract he had signed while working at the JK Lee so he could open up a business teaching martial arts with his brother without paying royalties to JK Lee, the complaint alleges.

Elliot is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court Jan. 16.
