Man Breaks into Car While the Owner Looks On
Suspect pulls into a Town of Brookfield car dealership and begins to rifle through the inside of a car, but the owner is watching from inside the dealership, charges allege.
A 38-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly stole items from a car dealership employee’s car while it was parked in front of the man’s office.
Michael C. Hockerman was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with third offense operating while intoxicated, possession of a switchblade knife and carrying a concealed weapon. If convicted, he faces up to 2 ½ years in prison.

On Nov. 29, 2010, an employee of in the Town of Brookfield was sitting in his office with his car parked right outside of the window. He saw Hockerman pull up behind the car, get out and begin to rifle through it. The employee went outside and confronted Hockerman, who was holding some of the employee's CDs that had been in the car.
The man took Hockerman back to his office and called police.

Hockerman appeared intoxicated while speaking to an officer and he said he took Adderall, Alprazolam and Oxycodone earlier in the day. He failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.
The officer searched Hockerman and found a switchblade knife in his pocket.
Hockerman previously was convicted of OWI in 1995 and 2002. He was being held in the Waukesha County Jail while awaiting trial.
