Man Sentenced to Prison for Fatal Brookfield Crash

A Pewaukee man will serve 25 years in prison for a 2008 crash on Capitol Drive in which an Elm Grove man died and two others were injured.

A convicted drunken driver was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison for a 2008 crash in Brookfield in which an Elm Grove man died and two others were injured.

Daniel Henningsen, 45, of Pewaukee, also will serve two years in jail, under the sentence imposed by Waukesha County Circuit Judge James Kieffer.

Henningsen was convicted of homicide by drunken driving, two counts of causing injury by drunken driving, and knowingly operating with a revoked license causing death.

Elm Grove resident William Gray died in the Aug. 1, 2008 crash on Capitol Drive near Mountain Drive, and his wife Kelley and another passenger were injured. Kelley Gray spoke during Monday's sentencing hearing.
