Brookfield Murder Accomplice Will Not Enter Insanity Plea

Lynn Hajny will not enter an insanity plea on her murder charge in the June 2011 death of Brookfield businessman John Aegerter.

A woman charged in connection with the brutal murder of Brookfield businessman John C. Aegerter will not enter an insanity plea, her defense attorney said Thursday.

Attorney Michael Hart told Waukesha County Circuit Judge Patrick Haughney in court that he does not expect to enter a special plea on behalf of Lynn Hajny, 49, of New Berlin.

Hart previously had asked for time to conduct a mental evaluation of Hajny to determine if she would pursue a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

A criminal complaint alleges that inside his Brookfield home last June. The two, went to Aegerter’s house to confront him about money they said he owed Hajny’s husband who had worked for Aegerter.

Douyette was described in the complaint as Hajny’s girlfriend and her husband has not been charged in the case.

Police found Aegerter dead in the garage of his Golf Parkway home, , his face duct-taped and several plastic grocery bags over his head, reports said. A Waukesha County prosecutor initially said he had broken ribs and a broken nose.
