Oconomowoc Man Charged with OWI After Making Anti-Semitic Remarks to Brookfield Police
Suspect, 25, made another racially charged remark to police after being placed in the rear of a squad car.
An Oconomowoc man is facing his second drunk driving charges after driving around Brookfield with another man and making racists and anti-Semitic remarks to two police officers.
According to the criminal complaint, at 3:31 p.m. Friday, a person saw Joseph R. Siesennop and another man driving to Mitchell Park erratically, and called police to report a drunk driver. A Brookfield police officer found the car and approached Siesennop, who refused to answer questions, calling the officer “(expletive) Gestapo.”
The officer asked Siesennop to perform a field sobriety test, but he refused and began making anti-Semitic remarks towards the officer and saying, “it’s off to the gas chamber,” according to the complaint.

After being put in the rear of the officer’s squad car, Siesennop then made a racially charged statement to a police officer candidate riding along with the officer.
The officer found two open bottles of liquor in the vehicle and the passenger later came to the police station to apologize to the arresting officer for acting nervous before because he had been tripping on “Triple C” in cold medicine, according to the complaint.
