Police Report: Hotel Guest Feuds, Email Scams, Recall Complaints

The latest police reports also include a 911 hangup call from a woman saying her husband's clutter was so bad she had no place to sleep.

The long arm of the law caught up with a woman in Brookfield Saturday.

Twice, two potentially intoxicated sisters were warned that their loud arguing was disturbing people at , 1250 S. Moorland Rd. When the warnings went unheeded, the hotel called Brookfield police to ask them to remove the two women from their room and the hotel.

Police removed one of them — in handcuffs. They arrested a 47-year-old woman after learning there was a warrant for her arrest, stemming from a drug delivery case out of Wood County. The year the case was filed? 1986.

Missing person? A Brookfield woman called police shortly before noon Wednesday to say her brother had failed to show up for work and was feared missing. She later learned his whereabouts: in custody at the Waukesha County Jail.

Shots fired: A Wynfield Court man said he heard what he believed to be a gunshot fired shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, followed three minutes later by a second shot. Patrol officers did not hear any shots or locate anything suspicious.

Coach purse stolen: A woman said someone smashed the front passenger window of her 2011 Honda CRV in the lot at , 13825 W. Burleigh Rd., and stole a Coach purse that was underneath a jacket on the floor. Her credit card was used for illegal purchases at Milwaukee gas stations. The break-in occurred between 5 and 6:42 p.m. Sunday.

Dog bite: A 58-year-old Brookfield woman said a dog lunged at and bit her thigh while she was jogging on Gebhardt Road near Calhoun Road about 3 p.m. Sunday. She wanted to make sure the dog had had all the required shots. The Elmbrook Humane Society was contacted.

Possible church burglary: A pastor at , 12860 W. North Ave., said someone had caused minor damage to two door frames in the front lobby between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Sunday. The office had not been entered and nothing was taken.

Bartender, cut that man off, please: contacted police when an Arkansas family in town for a funeral was causing issues. Some family members had locked their room and were not allowing others inside, and a man was intoxicated in the bar. The bartender was instructed to stop serving him and police warned others about noise before leaving about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Car keyed at mall: A woman's 2010 Nissan Cube was keyed on both driver's side doors, with a five-foot-long scratch in the paint, between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday while she was inside at Brookfield Square mall.

Recall petitioner on private sidewalk: An employee at , 16900 W. Bluemound Rd., called police about 3 p.m. Saturday to say a recall petitioner was on the sidewalk in front of the store. The petitioner said it was her first time volunteering and was told to meet others at the Jo-Ann Fabric sidewalk. Police directed her to the public sidewalk along Bluemound Road.

Recall petitioner removed from mall property: Mall security escorted some Recall Walker petitioners about noon Saturday when they were using private mall property at West Bluemound Road and Main Street, rather than public right-of-ways, to obtain signatures.

Wallets stolen from businesses: An employee at in the mall said someone stole her wallet from her purse Wednesday evening and used her debit card in West Allis before she canceled it. Earlier that afternoon, employees at and , 15455 W. Bluemound Rd., also reported having their wallets stolen and cards used for fraudulent purchases before it was discovered and accounts were canceled.

Cluttered home: Police received a 911 hangup call at 10 p.m. Wednesday from a home in the 16000 block of Spruce Lane. Police responded to the home after a return call went to voice mail. A woman, 78, said he was upset her husband, 68, was refusing to clean the clutter in the home, which was so bad that she no longer had anywhere to sleep. She said she was unable to lift items due to her health, and was referred to a police social worker for more advice. She also was warned not to use 911 for a non-emergency.

Hijacked emails for needs-money-scams: A Foreham Court man said Wednesday that his wife's Yahoo email account was breached and her contacts received an email saying she was in England and needed money. Also Wednesday, a Three Meadows Drive man said the same happened to his Yahoo account, only the fake email sent to his contacts said he had lost his wallet in the Philippines and needed $1,300. Both men were advised to report the breach to www.ic3.gov.

Ever done this? A motorist drove away from a gas station with the gas hose and nozzle still in his Mercedes' tank about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at 14100 W. Capitol Dr. It damaged the hose but the station employee told police he wanted to wait to see if the motorist, who he believed was a regular customer, would return to resolve the damage.

Family hit by ID theft — twice: A Trilby Court man reported to police Wednesday that someone had used a fake driver's license in his name to rent a U-Haul truck in Champagne, Ill. and didn't return the truck. Checking his credit report, he learned someone also fraudulently applied for credit cards in his name and illegally charged $4,700 at Lowe's and $984 at Kohl's. Best Buy did not allow an account to be opened.

The Brookfield man said his wife had had her identity stolen last year, with similiar illegal charges.
