Police Report: Threats to "Go Back to India," $2K in Shirts Stolen, Drugs

The latest police calls include an Asian man's complaint that a jogger told him to "go back to India" during a dispute about a dog.

About 75 men's and women's shirts worth $2,138 were stolen from American Eagle Outfitters at Brookfield Square mall.

A store manager discovered the theft about 7:40 p.m. Thursday but doesn't know when it occurred.

Disorderly conduct: A Vista Drive resident said a 60-year-old male jogger told him to "go back to India" and threatened that if the Vista Drive man's dog big the jogger, the jogger would sue for $25,000 and medical costs. The Vista Drive resident — a 41-year-old Asian man — told police his dog was confined by an unvisible fence and didn't run after the jogger. The dispute occurred about 9:45 a.m. Saturday.

More counterfeit $100 bills: Someone passed a bleached $5 bill made to look like a $100 in the liquor department of , 12735 W. Capitol Dr. Thursday. A fake $100 was passed at Victoria's Secret at Brookfield Square mall on Saturday. The lingerie store said a bleached $5 bill was presented by a black man wearing a green and yellow striped shirt and jeans, who was about 6'2" with a medium build. Other reports of counterfeit money in Brookfield have been attributed to women, including one with pink hair.

Toliet paper theft: A man confronted for trying to steal toliet paper from , 15170 W. Greenfield Ave., ran and dropped the toliet paper in the parking lot before getting into a waiting car and driving off about 10 p.m. Friday.

Ecstasy and marijuana: Brookfield police found Ecstasy, marijuana and open intoxicants after pulling over a suspicious car at 12607 W. Peck Place in Butler about 2:42 a.m. Saturday. A 26-year-old passenger fled on foot but was caught and cited for municipal obstructing. The 22-year-old driver was arrested for municipal first-offense drunken driving and possession of marijuana and MDMA.

Fake gold bracelets: An employee at the Gold Buyers kiosk in Brookfield Square mall told police the business bought four bracelets believed to be 14K gold for $1,843. Three tests indicated it was real gold, but further testing showed it was 10K gold plating on another metal. The seller is on probation and parole, and his agent said he had sold fake gold before and repaid the buyer and would do so again in this case.

Dog bite: A woman walking to church said she was bit by a dog in the 500 block of Forest Grove Lane about 6 p.m. Tuesday. She had bite marks but it did not penetrate her skin and no medical attention was needed.

Barking rotweiller: Police received a complaint a rotweiller was leashed outside and barking for most of the day Saturday in the 4100 block of N. 133rd St. The dog owner agreed to bring the dog inside and comply with local noise ordinances.

Trailer theft: A $3,300 Bobcat skid steer trailer was stolen in the past two weeks from J.P. Cullen & Sons, 13040 Lisbon Rd. It was last seen Oct. 19.

Child locked in car: A 3-year-old boy was removed from a locked Jeep Cherokee in the parking lot of , 2205 N. Calhoun Rd. about 11 a.m. Wednesday. When the boy was unable to get out of his car seat to open the car, police were called to assist.

High school fight: A 16-year-old female student at received a municipal citation for disorderly conduct after she and another girl got in a fight at school Wednesday morning.

Drugs found on bus: The driver of a Milwaukee County transit bus found a bag with 3.66 ounces of suspected marjuana while on route 62 about noon Wednesday. The officer turned it over to Brookfield police at North 124th Street and West Capitol Drive.

Prowling complaint: A man in the 19900 block of Keswick Court said he couldn't sleep and about 4 a.m. Thursday saw a man walk past his window. When the homeowner yelled at the man, the man ran to a car nearby in the street and a second man emerged from some trees across the street and also got in the car, driving off. Nothing from either house appeared to be missing.

Smash and grabs: The windows were smashed and purses stolen from two vehicles parked at the complex, 19485 W. Lisbon Rd., during the noon hour Saturday.

Thefts from unlocked vehicles:

  • Three Auburn Drive residents reported their unlocked garages had been entered and their unlocked vehicles rummaged overnight Wednesday night into Thursday morning. A 5-gallon gas container was taken but found along the road nearby. A Garmin GPS unit and $15 change was taken from one unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway.
  • A $60 pair of Rebok basketball shoes and $27 worth of athletic socks were taken from an unlocked behicle in the 13000 block of West Center Street between 2:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 29.
  • An unlocked Lexus sedan was entered overnight Wednesday but nothing was taken, while parked in the 1300 block of Weston Hills Court.

Vending machine thefts from hotels: , 1005 S. Moorland Rd., and the , 375 S. Moorland Rd., each reported numerous Coca-Cola vending machines broken into Thursday, with an unknown amount of money and products taken. A screwdriver was found on top of one machine.

Suspicious behavior: A woman told police that since buying a house in the 2700 block of Brookside Lane in August, she has been "creeped out" by the former house owners returning. A week after the move-in, they returned to dig out a statue, she said. She said she saw them taking photos of the house from the street on Wednesday.

Rock through window: Someone threw a large rock through a garage window about 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 15900 block of Brentwood Drive.

Man's wedding ring found: Someone on Saturday turned into the Brookfield police department a silver/gold man's wedding ring found in .

Get a room or move along: A supervisor at , 1200 S. Moorland Rd., called police about a suspicious car in the parking lot in which a couple appeared to be engaging in sexual activity. The two told police they were just hanging out and were told to either rent a room or move along.
