Police Report: Pranks and Pit Bull Citation

A prank at a Lillian Road home went far beyond the usual toilet-papering early Sunday, report say.

Not only was the house hit with toilet paper but it also was "peanut-buttered," and a car parked in the driveway was "saran-wrapped and baby powdered," according to police reports.

Lawn decorations were strewn all over.

The damage was found about 2:48 a.m. Sunday in the 16700 block of Lillian Road.

Hours earlier, a house was egged in the 17700 block of Marseille Drive, police said. In that case, the culprit might have fled in an older Cadillac about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Pit bull bite: A Brookfield woman was issued a municipal citation for a vicious dog on July 11 after her pit bull named Damien allegedly bit a Hartland man July 7. The man initially refused medical attention for the bites to the man's leg and back, saying they were minor, but he later went to the hospital to check the wounds. 

Craigslist scam? After posting a Craigslist ad for a $300 item, a woman said she received a money order for $900 with instructions to send the extra $600 to England. The woman called police July 11, who said it likely was a scam and to destroy the money order. 

Marine flare gun kit destroyed: A Surrey Lane woman whose late father willed to her his Marine flare gun kit called police July 11 to seek help in properly disposing of it. Officers inventoried the kit with plans to destroy it. 

Revolver, bullets destroyed: Police also plan to destroy a .22-caliber revolver and six bullets that a man turned into the police station July 11.

Lingerie lift: A 33-year-old woman was arrested July 11 for misdemeanor retail theft after allegedly stealing lingerie from Mall and trying to return it to the at Brookfield Square mall the same day. When arrested in Brookfield, she had about $220 worth of lingerie.

Beer heist: Police were searching for a man who walked out of , 12735 W. Capitol Dr., without paying for four cases of Corona beer about 8:45 p.m. July 11. The Nissan SUV he fled in listed to a Bailey Harbor, WI man.

Now that's strange: Officers took a report of a group of juveniles standing in the roundabout at North Barker Road and West North Avenue at 6:24 p.m. July 12. As cars drove through the intersection, the juveniles screamed "Roundabout!"

That's an expensive gas tank: A Chevy Suburban drove off without paying for $137.73 in gas pumped at , 14035 W. Capitol Dr., at 8:43 a.m. Friday. The Suburban was white with grey striping on the side and tinted windows but no license plates. 

Burglary at dog groomer: Someone pried open the back door at Mon Cheri Grooming, 4175 N. 124th St., and stole $160 from a cash drawer some time between 4 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.

Burglary at engraver: Someone broke a window in the rear of Markcraft Engravers, 4185 N. 124th St., crawled into a storage room, rifled through office filing cabinets but apparently took nothing, the business reported at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Burning violations: Police on Friday handed out warnings and copies of the city's burning ordinance to two households who were burning on the wrong day. One was located in the 4400 block of Meadow View Drive; the other was at Beechwood Avenue and South Park Boulevard.

Theft at Wirth pool: A woman's wallet was found in the changing room with a driver's license and credit cards intact but $40 cash missing, according to a report at 3:15 p.m. Friday. The woman told police the wallet had been in a large swim bag poolside while she swam with her children.

Child locked inside car: Police rescued a small child from a Nissan Rogue parked at the grocery store about 7:15 p.m. Friday. The child somehow grabbed the mother's keys and locked the car but the mother was unable to get the child to unlock it. The child was in the car on the warm Friday evening for about 15 minutes.

Complaints about dogs in hot cars: Brookfield police received and investigated several complaints about animals panting in hot cars with windows cracked, such as a call about a dog in a car at about 3 p.m. Saturday. All animals were determined to be in good welfare by police or officials but the animals' owners were warned. 

Three-legged deer: A 3-legged deer was reported limping around the area of 200 Sheffield Drive before taking off out of sight about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Don't drink and loiter: Three men, ages 27, 34 and 53, were warned about public drinking after being found drinking alcohol in the parking lot behind , 16680 W. Blue Mound Road just after midnight Saturday.

That's one way to shoplift: A 17-year-old man was cited for municipal retail theft after putting on a pair of sandals and walking out wearing them without paying about 1 p.m. Saturday at , 2315 N. 124th St.

Celebrate but no fireworks: A homeowner near Tulane Street and Simon Drive was warned to stop setting off fireworks during a graduation party about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Stealing from a church service volunteer: A woman said her purse was taken while she volunteered at a church service about 5 p.m. Sunday at Brookfield Rehabilitation, 18740 W. Blue Mound Road.
