Police Report: Trace That Nonfat Yogurt

The latest calls to police include reports of yogurt thrown at a home, broken windows on northwest-side businesses and excessive toilet-papering.

A Foxkirk Drive resident said he wanted the city attorney to "conduct a trace" on a yogurt container to learn the identity of who threw yogurt and eggs at his house windows on June 14, police reports say.

The 56-year-old man said he didn't call police until June 24 because he thought there was nothing officers could do.

But after finding an empty container of Roundy's brand nonfat blueberry yogurt in his bushes, he said he believed the suspect could be identified and prosecuted. The man said it would cost him $800 to $900 to hire a service to clean his windows and he wanted to press charges.

Pellet gun damage spree: Police increased patrols around the Gateway Commerce Center on the northwest side after several businesses reported building and vehicle windows were shot out, possibly by a pellet gun.

From June 6 to June 20, windows were reported broken at , Artos Engineering, Boilermaker Local 107, Goodman Reichwald Dodge, and Engineering Specialists.

Living in office? A 57-year-old man was cited for municipal loitering after North Shore Bank officials discovered he had slept at least one night in a vacant 4th floor office inside the building, and the said the same man had been cleaning up at their restrooms despite not staying there. The man said his home was being remodeled and he was staying at the Quality Inn in Wauwatosa. 

Employment dispute: After being suspended pending an investigation, an employee, 38, returned to Lighthouse of Brookfield, 16690 W. Greenfield Ave., about 4 p.m. Friday and started yelling when she was not allowed to talk with her supervisor to learn why she was being investigated. She agreed to leave after officers arrived.

Suspicious man: A Waukesha woman shopping at JoAnn Fabric, 16900 W. Blue Mound Road, called police after becoming concerned about the behavior of a man she believed was watching and following her and her children around the store. She said the man also approached her son and started talking to him in the men's restroom. She described him as about 45 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches and heavyset, with an "extremely round face with multiple moles." 

Missing girl found: Police received a call at 8:41 p.m. Friday that a 3-year-old girl had been missing for about a half hour from a house in the 16400 block of Lillian Road. A woman visiting from Minnesota said the house was unlocked and the girl might have wandered outside, describing her as 3 feet tall with long blond hair wearing pink pajamas. Two minutes later, the woman found the girl hiding in the house.

Not lovin' it: Officers checked on an occupied car parked in the Brookfield Elementary School parking lot shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday. A 19-year-old woman was inside, eating McDonald's food. Police urged her to eat at home. 

Excessive toilet-papering: A homeowner in the 12600 block of Sheraton Court called police to complain that some time overnight Friday into Saturday his house was toilet papered for the third time this year. He said his daughter would be a senior at Brookfield East High School in fall, and he planned to contact the Athletic Director at East to seek help in curbing the vandalism.

Theft: An engagement ring and credit card were reported stolen from a locker at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital sometime Friday. A woman told police she believed her locker had been secured with a combination lock. In an unrelated theft report at the hospital, an employee said someone entered her car and stole two cameras during her Sunday shift.

Deer v. vehicle: A Chrysler minivan hit a deer on Capitol Drive and Pilgrim Road at 9:22 a.m. Sunday. 

Homicide victim's business window broken: Police were notified Sunday morning that a basement window was broken at Air Page Corp., 14150 W. Greenfield Ave, although there appeared to have been no entry. Air Page's president and owner, John Aegerter, was .

Theft at graduation party: A woman said someone stole her wallet from her purse that she had left on a fireplace mantle during a graduation party in the 900 block of Simon Drive Sunday afternoon. Taken were her driver's license, cash and Medicare ID card.

Illegal burning or outdoor fireplace? An Adelmann Avenue resident told police her burning of yard waste Sunday afternoon did not violate city burning rules because she was using it as an outdoor fireplace. Officers asked her to extinguish the fire while they consulted with City Hall.
