Police Report: Underage Drinking At School

Latest police calls include problems with defecating dogs, fraudulent tax filing, trespass and theft.

Two girls, ages 12 and 13, were caught drinking vodka at on Wednesday afternoon.

Principal Robyn Martino called police shortly before 2 p.m. Officers met the students in the main office and issued municipal citations for underage drinking. The girls, who were cooperative with school and police officials, were released to their parents.

Battery? Or not: A man in the lot of , 12735 W. Capitol Dr., called 911 after midnight Friday to say he had been assaulted on a Milwaukee County transit bus. But police quickly learned the man just wanted a ride home. Wauwatosa police told Brookfield officers they have advised the same 33-year-old man about improper use of 911 in the past. Brookfield police told the man to walk home and warned him he would be arrested if he did it again. 

Fraudulent tax filing: A Fiebrantz Drive woman told police Thursday that when she filed her income taxes online, the IRS refused to accept it, saying taxes with her Social Security number had already been filed. The woman was contacting the Federal Trade Commission and all appropriate identity theft agencies.

Trespass: A man in the 3300 block of Grandview Drive complained Thursday that someone had trespassed through his yard - a problem he has had in the past. The man said he "did some investigating and found a matching print a few houses away." An officer said the footprints in the snow were near a utility easement with electric, telephone and cable TV poles. The man said he planned to post no-trespassing signs.

No defecating in the post office: The postmaster at the Brookfield Post Office, 17345 Civic Dr., called police Thursday to say there was a continuing problem with a woman who allows her dog to roam the post office building and defecate in the restroom , despite warnings from employees. The dog owner did not clean the dog's messes, the postmaster said. Officers called and warned the woman (through her husband) to stop the behavior.

Children locked in cars: A 6-month-old girl was locked inside a car in the Brookfield Post Office parking lot about 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Officers got the Dodge Durango unlocked. And about 1 p.m. Wednesday, a young child was locked inside a Saturn View  in the parking lot, 12735 W. Capitol Dr. until officers gained entry. Both children were fine.

More dog defecating problems: A Calhoun Road resident on Thursday reported he was having problems with his neighbor's chocolate Labrador leaving toys and defecating in his yard. The caller said the problems had escalated to the point where the neighbors would no longer answer the door when he knocked to try to to talk to them. 

Car jump becomes car fire: As drivers were trying to jump a stalled vehicle in a parking lot at 200 S. Executive Dr. at 6 p.m. Wednesday, the cables started on fire. The police report said the jumper cables were not grounded properly and the plastic handle and wire coverings started to melt. There was negligent damage to the vehicles, a Mazda 6 and Chrysler Sebring.  

Not a good way to recycle: A television was found dumped on the side of the road in on Wednesday. City highway crews were notified to pick it up. 

Theft: An $800 bass amplifier was reported stolen from , 17135 W. Blue Mound Rd. A store manager said the theft occurred sometime in the past month.
