Underage Drinking Complaint, Mooning, Counterfeit Bill

Police responded to an anonymous complaint of a potential underage drinking party Friday night.

A caller said there were about 80 youths and open intoxicants at a home in the 14100 block of Chesterwood Drive about 11 p.m. Friday.

Officers talked to the homeowner, who said the party was being supervised by several adults and that there was no underage drinking.

Heroin arrest: Brookfield police about 10:30 a.m. Thursday assisted Milwaukee police in arresting a 30-year-old man in the 2300 block of Walnut Grove in Brookfield for attempted purchase of heroin in the city of Milwaukee.

Mailbox damage:

• A woman asked police to warn five juveniles she caught kicking her mailbox about 2 a.m. Thursday in the 16300 block of West Greenfield Avenue.

• A car struck two mailboxes in the 17500 block of Penbrook Drive about 7:30 a.m. Thursday and drove off.

Hide-and-seek: A runner called police about noon Thursday after seeing a man looking through a row of trees near North Avenue and Springdale Road. A homeowner in the 21900 block of King Arthurs Court said he was angry about getting repeated calls about this. He said his 56-year-old brother-in-law, who lives there, was in the yard playing hide-and-seek with his dog, hiding in the tree line.

Fraudulent $820 charge: A New Berlin woman said someone stole her wallet Wednesday from her work at Allstate Insurance, 555 S. Executive Dr., taking hundreds of dollars in cash, credit cards and her driver’s license. Someone used her card to charge $820 at a Walmart in Milwaukee.

Business argument: Two business partners who had a falling out were arguing over jointly owned property and business deals when police were called to Nelson Financial, 445 Prospect Drive about 11 a.m. Sept. 16. The two women, ages 58 and 49, threw papers and a cup of water during the argument but neither wanted to press charges.

Poor veteran or not? An anonymous caller questioned the veracity of a man seen arriving at in a 1999 Chevy S10 Blazer and then standing with a dog by stop lights between the mall and the , holding a “poor veteran” sign and getting money from people. Police cited the man, 59, for soliciting money without a permit.

Homeless man attempts burglary: Brookfield police responded to a burglary alarm at Bottom’s Up Tavern, 12504 W. Hampton Ave., Butler. A homeless man threw a bottle at the door trying to get in at 2:45 a.m. Saturday. He did not want information about shelters.

Domestic dispute: A woman broke off her engagement after learning her boyfriend had two other children. He tried to stop her from leaving a home in the 16400 block of Dane Court and they argued before he followed her as she drove to the Brookfield police department after 2 p.m. Saturday.

Counterfeit bill: The Secret Service was notified about a counterfeit bill passed between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. at the customer service counter at , 12735 W. Capitol Dr. It was a $5 bill bleached and turned into a $100 bill.

Ballys locker thefts: Two people reported having their locked lockers broken into at , 16985 W. Blue Mound Rd., on Saturday. One man, 52, said his wallet was taken, with $300 cash, credit cards and driver’s license. Another man, 28, said he lost $20 to $30. Police do have suspects in the thefts.

Mooning incident: Two people, homeless and train-hopping back to Colorado, were mooning people from corner to corner in the area of the Brookfield-Wauwatosa border at Capitol Drive and North 124th Street about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Wauwatosa police warned the 23-year-old man and 25-year-old woman to stop the mooning.

Bad breakup? A 34-year-old Brookfield man told police Saturday that he gave his girlfriend his credit card to buy an outfit at for no more than $50 and start a bar tab for no more than $20. They broke up the next day. She had racked up more than $500 in charges, he said. The credit card company called it “friendly fraud” and suggested he contact police. But officers said it was a civil, not criminal matter.

Domestic dispute: A 62-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence/disorderly conduct shortly before midnight Saturday in the 3100 block of Fiebrantz Drive. A woman called police, saying her husband was in a physical fight with her daughter’s boyfriend.

Burnt bacon set off a fire alarm at New Perspective, 16720 W. Greenfield Avenue about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Found rings: Employees at , 2205 N. Calhoun Rd., turned into police two rings found by patrons — a man’s wedding ring found Jan. 5 and a woman’s silver and opal ring found Sept. 7. The rings were put in police inventory.

Brush fire behind grocery store: A pine tree was on fire behind the , 17295 W. Capitol Dr., on Sunday. Neighbors didn’t see anyone, but teens were said to be frequently drinking and smoking behind the grocery store.

What was going on in that restroom? A short police log says officers gave a warning to a man, 36, and woman, 33, at the , 15565 W. Blue Mound Rd., about 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The two, the log says, “were advised of the intended purpose of a gas station restroom.” A police captain said there was no more information available.
