Police Reports: Indecent Exposure, Fireworks Complaints

The latest police calls also include a stolen van, hotel elevator rescue and doughnut complaints.

Police arrested and cited a man for indecent exposure after an employee at the reported the man was masturbating in his vehicle in the parking lot.

Officers responded to a report at 7:50 a.m. June 27 and issued the 34-year-old man a municipal citation for lewd and lascivious behavior.

Fireworks:

  • Former Ald. Thomas Trecker reported hearing shots fired about 8 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Timberidge Trail. Police checked the area, including talking to people playing tennis and walking in Mary Knoll Park, but were unable to verify or locate any shots fired or other loud noise.
  • After a fire-powered red paper balloon landed in a man's yard at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, the man called police to say he heard fireworks nearby. The resident of the 2400 block of North 130th Street said he was concerned that fireworks could land on a house and set it afire. Officers could not find any fireworks being shot.
  • Police planned to destroy a partially expended block of fireworks that a Garvens Avenue resident found in his yard about 8 p.m. Wednesday and turned in to police. The man said he had no idea who left the fireworks in his yard.

Stolen van: A vending machine supply company reported its van was stolen about 1 p.m. Wednesday outside an office at 200 S. Executive Drive. The Snack Shop employee said he left the white 1999 Chevrolet van parked with its keys in the ignition while making a delivery inside. The van had a sign in the back that read "doing a delivery, be back in 5 minutes."

Hacker or virus? A Baythorne Way resident called police Wednesday morning to report someone had hacked into his computer. Officers learned his computer had a virus and referred him to an antivirus company for help.

Theft: Detectives were investigating the possible theft of $20,000 in cash from a River Birch Drive apartment. An apartment resident reported that he allowed a man who had twice previously stolen from him to enter his apartment on June 26. 

Donuts: Police received a complaint that youth were squealing car tires and doing "doughnuts" on the blacktop at , 2250 Lynette Lane about 9 p.m. Thursday. A caller said it was an ongoing problem, and that last summer youths would come to play basketball and would squeal tires when they left.

Sleeping it off: A 24-year-old Brookfield man was given a ride home after being found intoxicated and asleep in his parked car at Lilly Heights Park about 3 a.m. Friday.

Stuck in elevator: Brookfield firefighters rescued two people stuck in an elevator at midnight Friday in the , 1005 S. Moorland Road. The two used the phone inside the elevator to call for help, and firefighters were able to pry open the doors and let them out after about 15 minutes.
