Police Reports: Nudity, Pranks and Body Part Graffiti

Someone changed the letters on the Culver's sign to create a sexually explicit ice cream flavor, and another suspect defecated on the Wirth Park slides after hours.

If there are themes in this week's police reports, one has to be male genitalia. Police calls really went into the gutter as officers took these complaints:

  • An officer driving past the about 5:45 a.m. Aug. 3 found an unusual ice cream flavor advertised on its sign.

    "Penis and cream and crap."

Someone had re-arranged the movable sign letters. The Aug. 2 flavor had been Cookies and Cream.

The officer took down the letters and left them on the ground by the sign, contacting the key holder for the restaurant, 3705 N. 124th St., to fix the sign.
  • A motorist told police Aug. 1 that someone had drawn a large picture of male genitalia in the road on Dexter Court.

A neighbor saw and knew the 13-year-old boy who did it. The boy confessed he had used sunscreen to draw the male body part in front of a friend's house on Dexter Court.

Both his family and the friend's family told police they would clean it off that day.

  • A manager at asked Aug. 1 for extra after-hour patrols around the pool for the rest of the summer.

She said that someone had jumped the fence at night after the pool was closed, gone swimming and defecated on the slides.

  • Also at the , a lifeguard called police about 9:52 a.m. Aug. 1 to report she had seen a naked man walking in the woods southwest of the pool, between the park and Pheasant Drive.

She described the man as being in his 60s, with receding unkempt white/grey hair, about 6-foot tall and heavy set. Officers thoroughly searched all areas of the park and the neighborhood but did not find the man.

  • At Wirth Park South, the smaller southern area of the park located along North Avenue, a patrol officer found a couple who was naked in the park about 2:30 a.m. Aug. 5. The officer cited the two — a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man — for being in the park after hours.

Another theme in this week's police reports: . Police called about dead bat, rabid raccoon, biting dog and more.
