Police Reports: Vandalism From 'Junior-Senior Wars'

Latest police calls include a sexting warning, thefts, threats and a found wedding band.

The annual "junior-senior wars" prompted at least two police calls last week, as residents reported vandalism to their yards they suspected was done by high school students.

A resident in the 19100 block of Gebhardt Road said her yard was toilet-papered and items were moved around after 9 p.m. March 14. She suspected it was the work of the "junior-senior wars," in which high-schoolers play pranks on each other.

On Thursday night, a resident in the 17700 block of Marseille Drive said her home was also hit and her son is a high school senior. The house was toilet-papered, for sale signs were ripped out, a sandbox was broken and a door wreath was wrecked.

Police Capt. Jim Adlam said the department urges high school students to halt their annual "war" before someone gets hurt.

"Some parents are OK with it; some aren't," Adlam said.

Two homeowners also reported problems with youth pounding on their home windows and then fleeing.

An Elderlawn Parkway man said he believed his son was enduring repeated harassment from unknown teens. Shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday three male teens were pounding on the windows of his house and his son's car and one ran across the hood of the car. Nothing was damaged. The youth fled when the man said he let his dog out of the house to chase them.
