On July 23, Brookfield police officers were called to North Calhoun Road and Civic Drive on the report of a hit and run accident. Witnesses saw a car hit a telephone pole, then continue driving westbound on Civic. Blaha was determined to be driving the car and was later found.

According to the complaint, she told police she was a certified nursing assistant and was on her way home from her employer in Pewaukee. Officers noticed Blaha was lethargic and slow and smelled of alcohol, and she was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

Officers searched her car and found five Ambien pill bottles. Blaha told officers the bottles belonged to a patient of hers, then said she got them legally from a friend's father who is a doctor and later said she wasn't supposed to have them.

Blaha will make her initial appearance in court Nov. 19.
