An area man contacted police in September after he discovered his mother never received a gift card for Stein Gardens and Gifts he had mailed to her in August. He went to the store’s where a manager told him the card was used at the store and they were able to find out who used it because the person also used their store rewards card with the transactions.

The transactions were traced back to Wilson, who works as a custodian at the post office. She initially told police she found the gift card sitting on a table, but later admitted finding the envelope with the gift card on the floor and tossing out the mail before taking the gift card.
