Shoplifters, Clerk Get Caught in the Act

A roundup of recent store thefts includes an employee who was tapping the till.

Brookfield police reported a number of arrests recently for retail theft, as well as one of a cashier who was recorded repeatedly making personal withdrawals from her register.

At 2:07 p.m. July 12, a 17-year-old Hales Corners girl was arrested for retail theft from JC Penney at Brookfield Square and banned from the mall after she was caught trying to take $96 worth of merchandise.

At 10:40 p.m. July 10, a 55-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft when he tried to leave Pick ‘n Save at 12735 W. Capitol Dr. with $116 worth of steaks. The meat was recovered intact.

At 1:58 p.m. July 9, a 55-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for stealing two bottles of cologne worth $162 from Boston Store, and he was also in possession of two bottles of cologne from Victoria’s Secret worth $130.

At 1:09 p.m. July 9, a 21-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for employee theft at the TJ Maxx store at 17460 Blue Mound Road, after shortages in her cash drawer were noticed. Video surveillance showed her taking money from the till on five occasions, four for $20 an a fifth for $30.

At 2:55 p.m. July 3 at Metro Market, 17639 Blue Mound, a 60-year-old Sussex woman was arrested for theft on state criminal charges of trying to steal $120.48 worth of goods.

At 3:13 p.m. July 3, a 55-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for theft from Piggly Wiggly, 2315 N. 124th St., for trying to take $40.74 worth of groceries.
