1 Brookfield OWI Arrest Among 23 on New Year's Eve

Some 59 officers from area agencies also wrote 210 tickets and issued 105 warnings during the evening.

One OWI arrest in Brookfield was among 23 made on New Year's Eve in the Milwaukee area, according to preliminary results from the Southeast Wisconsin Drunk Driving Task Force

Officers from the city and town of Brookfield joined those from 11 other suburban communities, Milwaukee Police and Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputies, and Wisconsin State Patrol in the effort. A total of 59 officers participated in the task force. 

Officers from Cudahy made four arrests, the Milwaukee County Sheriff made two arrests and the Milwaukee Police Department made 12 arrests.   

An alleged drunk driver was pick up for a fifth offense by the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department arrested a drunk driver for their third offense. 

The Town of Brookfield made one arrest for possession of marijuana and handled five curfew violations.  

The task force made a total of 274 contacts with motorists, wrote 210 tickets and issued 105 warnings during the evening. The task force also handled twelve warrants.
